SOLAR PV INSTALLATION
WHY HAVE A SOLAR PV
SYSTEM INSTALLED?
Renewable energy produced by solar panels is a proven and cost effective form of energy that provides almost a million homes in the UK with their energy requirements.
You have to supply your property with electricity and historically the only way of doing this was buying your energy from a utility company. But now you no longer need to suffer the endless increase in energy prices as you can generate your own energy for life.
Solar Panels are guaranteed for 25 years with an expected working life of 40-50 years so you will recoup your initial investment back many times over during their lifetime.
How does Solar PV work?
Solar PV systems now operate from daylight so everyone in the UK can benefit from this abundant source of energy.
The electricity generated by PV solar cells is DC (direct current) whilst the electricity used in your house is AC (alternating current). So the current from the solar panel system has to go through an inverter, to convert it from DC to AC before it can be pumped into your house and used to run appliances.
Is my home suitable for Solar PV?
We know that no two customers are the same so we take the time and effort to consider your needs and your budget to ensure you receive the very best advice with the ideal solar energy solutions for your property. We are able to measure your roof from google earth and provide a preliminary quote which in 95% of cases is 100% accurate. We can then follow this up with a site visit to go through the installation in more detail to help you make a no pressure informed decision on whether or not solar is right for you.
No planning permission is required as a solar panel installation is classed under ‘permitted developments’ but you will need planning permission if your property is a listed building or you live in a conservation area or area of outstanding natural beauty and your panels will be on a roof that faces a public highway.
How long does Solar take to install?
In most cases we can install a solar pv system onto most homes in just one day minimising any disruption to the household. The only time it may take longer is where the roof is made of natural slate or manmade/asbestos slate where it may take an additional day.
Which solar panels are best?
We only use Solar PV Equipment and suppliers that have been approved by our governing body (MCS – MicroGeneration Certification Scheme) thereby ensuring that our customers have the best products. We will always recommend quality solar panels either made in Germany by the likes of Q-Cells and Axitec or those manufactured by worldwide manufacturers such as LG or Panasonic. Where possible we will even visit the factory of our panel manufacturers to ensure that the quality of their production facilities is as it is publicised in their brochures.
